Mission and Purpose

  Southlake Development and Management Group, LLC (SDMG) mission is to create places of opportunity where people of diverse incomes and backgrounds access affordable housing, benefit from economic opportunities, and fully participate in the civic life of their community. We achieve this by building and sustaining a high-performing and adaptive community development sector supported by private and public investment and sound public policies.

Our purpose is to build and revitalize communities where people of different races, ages, and economic backgrounds can live together and share a united goal of having safe, family-friendly environments to live, raise children and thrive. Further, our development corporation seeks to restore neighborhoods through new businesses, homes, parks, and services and improve residents' lives and opportunities. Green and Smart technologies will be integrated during the design phase to enhance the community.

We aspire to become the developer of choice for Gary, Indiana. Our collective experiences and capacity will propel us to this end. 

 Single-family Housing Development

An affordable single-family housing development that was organized to help reestablish a community in SW Georgia 

Multifamily Housing Development

 57 housing units (46 low-income housing units and 10 market-rate units in the Redevelopment District). 

Scattered Site Development

34 scattered site affordable housing rental units. The project was financed with LIHTC, Home dollars, and conventional financing.  

Commercial/Retail Development

• Big-box grocery store, full-service gas station, financial institution, and retail stores.
• Financed and developed a midsized family restaurant
• Project repurpose existing land to develop business, hotel, and restaurant district
• Managed the remediation of the 8-story hotel 

Business Development

Converted existing office business into a service business incubator that housed over ten businesses.
